Who is responsible

The controller for the Underglow app and the website underglowapp.com is eyeV GmbH. Contact details are listed in the imprint. For privacy questions, write to hello@underglowapp.com.

The Underglow app

Data stored on your iPhone

Underglow stores the following only on your device, in the app's private storage:

• Your designs: glow positions, colors, backgrounds, names and alignment corrections.
• Photos you choose as a background. A copy is kept with the design that uses it and is deleted when you replace the photo or delete the design.
• Your balance of unused Single Exports, stored in the iOS Keychain so it cannot be lost or edited.

We have no access to any of this. It may be included in the device backups you make with iCloud or your computer, which are under your control. Deleting the app removes your designs and photos.

Photos

To import a background or a Home Screen screenshot, Underglow uses the iOS photo picker. The app only receives the images you pick and never reads your photo library. To export a wallpaper, Underglow asks for add-only permission, which lets it save new images but not view existing ones.

Screenshot import and Verify Alignment analyze the screenshot you pick entirely on your iPhone. The image is not uploaded anywhere.

Purchases

Single Exports and the Unlimited subscription are sold and processed by Apple through the App Store. We do not receive your name, email address or payment details. Underglow checks the signed purchase information Apple provides on your device to unlock exports. Apple's handling of your data is described in the Apple Privacy Policy.

No tracking

Underglow contains no analytics, crash reporting, advertising or third-party SDKs, and it does not track you across apps or websites. The app makes no network requests of its own; only Apple's App Store services are contacted for purchases.

This website

underglowapp.com is a static website. It sets no cookies, uses no analytics or tracking, and loads no fonts, scripts or other content from third parties.

When you visit the site, our hosting provider automatically processes technical data that your browser sends, such as your IP address, the date and time of the request, the page requested and your browser type. This is necessary to deliver the website and keep it secure (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR). These server logs are not combined with other data and are deleted after a short period.

Contacting us

If you email us, we use your email address and message only to answer you (Art. 6(1)(b) and (f) GDPR) and delete them once your request is resolved, unless we are legally required to keep them.

Your rights

Under the GDPR you have the right to access, rectify and erase your personal data, to restrict or object to its processing, and to data portability. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with a data protection supervisory authority. Because Underglow keeps your data on your device, you can view and delete it directly in the app.

Children

Underglow does not collect personal data from anyone, including children.

If we change how Underglow handles data, we will update this page and the date above.
